Today (Wednesday 21st October) I updated Ubuntu 24.04 LTS in the middle of the PHP apocalypse and a CA using the number 4 as a private key.
I was met with a broken QtCreator 18.0.0 CMake kit:

The error says “Version not parseable”
The problem is that for some god-forsaken reason, QtCreator now resolves /snap/bin/cmake to /usr/lib/snapd/snapd and tries to call /usr/lib/snapd/snapd -E capabilities which fails and says “Version not parseable”.
The workaround is to setup a new CMake entry in Edit -> Preferences -> CMake -> Tools and make it point to /snap/cmake/current/bin/cmake instead.
I don’t know whose fault it is (Snap or QtCreator). I’m just really tired of broken software today to deal with this and report it.
I’m just posting this in case someone else has the same problem. That’s the solution.
